How We Work We accept items any time, any day. When you bring your items in, you can choose to consign them or receive cash up front. Fashions you bring us should be better brands, in season, less than 3 years old, in excellent condition, clean, and pressed. Consignment: 1. You will receive 40% of the selling price in cash or store credit when we sell your items. If we sell your item for more than $100 you will receive 50% of the selling price. 2. Your items will be displayed for 60 days. Items not sold after the first 30 days will be marked down 25%. Any unsold items at the end of the 60 day consignment period may be returned. Contact us and we will have those items ready for you to pick up. Any unclaimed items become the property of True Colors and may be given to charity. 3. True Colors will set the price and make sure they get the best price they can for you. You may pick up your cash or use it for store credit at any time. A check may be mailed upon request at the end of the consignment period or if the payment is $25 or more. Cash On The Spot: After sorting your clothes, we will make you a cash offer that you may accept or decline. Typically your cash offer will be 25-30% of what we will price these items.
Frequently Asked Questions: What kind of items do you accept? We accept new, or gently worn merchandise from customers who take excellent care of their items. We carry trendy up-to-date styles that were purchased new in the past 2-to-3 seasons. In addition to clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, and accessories, we take home decor items and small furniture items. We are looking for modern and contemporary home fashions as well as one-of-a-kind unique pieces. How do I get my items ready to sell? First, consider what season we are accepting (see side bar). Then evaluate each item for cleanliness and take out anything with stains, missing buttons, broken zippers, or pilling. All items should be freshly laundered, ironed if necessary and either hung or folded neatly in a tub or basket. The better your clothes look, the better they will sell! We will not be able to evaluate your items if they are in trash bags, have pet hair or smell like smoke. Why didn't you take some of my items? Please do not be offended if we do not accept all of your items. Our decisions are based on experience and knowledge of what our customers are looking for. We have learned through trial and error what will and will not sell. The most common reasons we might decline an item:
Facts About Fakes When it comes to designer clothing and purses, we are only interested in authentic pieces. If we can't verify an item is authentic, we will respectfully decline and return it to the seller. Not only is selling fakes illegal, but counterfeiting may go so far as to be linked to acts of terrorism. So please understand that we err on the side of caution to protect ourselves, our customers, and our store.
